The thirst project. Have you heard about it ? The story all begins in the summer of 2007. A friend o Seth Maxwell had returned from his trip from Uganda. As his friend came back he was described as of how there water was filled with much bacteria and insects and how people still drank it like that because it was there only choice in water. May i remind you how devastating it can be watching as kids at a young age walking more than 2 miles to get water that half of us would't even think of touching. People were starting to spread the word because no one likes the idea of any human bean getting sick because of drinking dirty water. As of today the thirst project is collecting money so they can build wells in places like Uganda so they can get the water that they deserve. The average cost on building a well would be about $7800 many people can save lives with just a little of just even 1 dollar.
It is not just Uganda that they are helping out there are many more places such as Salvarador and africa. In my community i have never seen a dirty water fountain. So in that case when i heard about the thirst project all i wanted was help. As children drink contaminated water, that contains bacteria and insects, the insects reach down to peoples stomach and cause their stomach to look as if they ate much but its really the bugs that are inside of them. With this problem more than 2.2 people are killed every year. Remember these countries don't have hospitals, doctors, or medicine like we do.
As i told people about what these countries many people took action and wanted to help out themselves Just a dollar can help out build as many wells just by spreading a word. Many people i told were nearly shocked as i told them just 1 dollar can make a big change. All it takes is spread the word and as you know it you'll be part of being a hero.
